Everything seems to be in a state of flux….
which with it bring chaos….
I’ve spent a good part of the day cleaning on this
old tanker desk….it’s a Craigslist find….
a cool desk, but covered in nicotine stains….
I’ve cleaned the legs with steel wool and I’ve tried
everything from “bug and tar remover”, mineral
spirits, fingernail polish remover, “Never Dull” and lots of
elbow grease to rid this of the nicotine stains.
Nothing like a little “do it yourself” project to take
up an entire Saturday……
It won’t be long and we’ll be moving it into the
“computer room” to replace these two makeshift
desks.
Looking forward to drawers for pens and papers
and all the other paraphernalia, that will now get to be
out of sight.
Tammy,
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a project and then some! It will be wonderful to have the storage and those old desks are so sturdy. I like the industrial appeal as well! Good luck with it and show us some after photos!

I can't wait to see how it looks when you are done. Are you taking it down to shiny metal? That would be so cool! What will you do with the other desks? Have fun!
ReplyDeletePerfect! I did an old desk redo several years ago to help keep Jim uncluttered. It turned out beautiful and is now buried in his studio beneath ever new mounting piles of more clutter!!
