Excuse me, but I’m really excited……
I’ve finished part of both of the slipcovers for the barstool
chairs and they are turning out WAY better than I ever expected!
See how they started out HERE. Hideous huh?!
I am one of those people who are pretty much self-taught as far
as sewing goes, so to be this far without having to rip out any seams
or say any swear words is a major milestone for me!
Now I just have to go back to the drawing board and think this over in my mind
and figure out if I want piping that goes all around the seat cushions or if I want
them tucked in, where they are tucked in now and then piping around the front part of them….
hmmmmm….any ideas?
For all of you sewers out there….you have my total respect….this has taken me quite
a while to get this far.
Thanks to Jan, over at Summer Sundays, who told me to “take it slow”….I have been and that has helped me a lot.
The slipcovers are not going to fit tightly because of all the embellishment on the front of the
seats, but I’m still thrilled with how they are turning out.
Maybe some of those dangly chenille balls on the bottom edge when I get finished……?
We’ll see!
I am so impressed! And I have a sofa that needs a slipcover if you're interested . . .

I'm impressed, too. You did a most excellent job. It just gives you so many more options when you know how to sew a little. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the seats. Good luck! Jan
ReplyDeleteMy first thought was not balls......but boullion? Like big fat boullion??????
ReplyDeleteIf someone sat down and "caught" a ball.........your look would be damaged.
Love the fabric. Looks like it would also be a great dress on YOU!!!!!!
You're doing a great job!
As always, your inner genius at all things creative has shown through. What an amazing job and yes, that fabric would look great on you as a maxi dress. Somehow, I don't think the dogs will be getting up on these chairs!
