Flux and Chaos

Everything seems to be in a state of flux….

which with it bring chaos….

I’ve spent a good part of the day cleaning on this

old tanker desk….it’s a Craigslist find….

a cool desk, but covered in nicotine stains….

I’ve cleaned the legs with steel wool and I’ve tried

everything from “bug and tar remover”, mineral

spirits, fingernail polish remover, “Never Dull” and lots of

elbow grease to rid this of the nicotine stains.

Nothing like a little “do it yourself” project to take

up an entire Saturday……

It won’t be long and we’ll be moving it into the

“computer room” to replace these two makeshift

desks.

Looking forward to drawers for pens and papers

and all the other paraphernalia, that will now get to be

out of sight.

Spring!

So nice to be able to go out to the back yard today

after work and take pictures of what is blooming…..tulips and

ajuga.

We also have plenty of wild violets…they are a weed

here, but I always think, if they weren’t a weed and they

were hard to grow, I’d probably want to grow them.

Once their blooms fade, I will work at digging more of them

up…..they seem virtually impossible to eradicate.  Perhaps,

we should just embrace their beauty?

What’s not to love…..such a beautiful and romantic

shape.

I never can remember what this plant is with the tiny

blue flowers, but the dogs love to munch on it!

It looks like a little lacy cloud!

I love the may apples towering above these little

yellow flowers….

I tried to shoot them from different angles…

Those little flowers were just tucked down in there,

like a secret. (If you go back up to the picture with all

of the little blue flowers and look in the middle of

the picture and just a bit to the right, you can see a little

spot of yellow…those are the petite yellow flowers

that you see above)

Goodreads

Are many of you out there on “Goodreads”?

I must say I’m a bit addicted to this site, and

I’ve been reading so much more than ever before

since I’ve joined.

It keeps lists of books that you’ve read and how you’ve

rated them…..you can also add your own reviews of the books.

They also have an “app”, so you can add books on your

mobile phone as well…yes, I’m addicted!

as well as books that you might want to read

in the future…..I LOVE this, because how many times

does someone tell you about a book, or you read a review

of a book and think to yourself, “hey, I’d like to read that”, but

when you get a chance to start a new book, you can’t remember

the name of that book for the world!

You can also link up with friends and see what they’ve

been reading or you can just type in the name of a book

or author and see what other people have said about that

book.

I’m currently reading “She’s Come Undone” and I’m loving it….

it’s quite depressing, but kind of like a train wreck that you can’t

help but watch (or in this case read about)…..
