if you are trying to be good for the new year!
I’ve been a bit food obsessed lately!
Some of these food pics won’t get you in too much trouble. I tried some chicken wings out of Martha Stewart’s Everyday Food magazine that came in the mail.
These are the Sriracha Glazed Wings
Not a home run, but definitely 2nd base….I think with a few tweeks, they could be much better. I love sriracha sauce, I mean, I love spicy like the “Real Housewives” love botox! These were not quite spicy enough for ME, so will experiment a bit for next time….will definitely try to improve on this recipe. When I get it down to perfection I’ll be sure to share it with you. Oh yeah, will also remember to spray the dish with some Pam next time too…..I’ve been scrubbing on this dish for DAYS!
However, the same night I made the wings I also made this little veggie medley…..YUM!
So easy to make! Put a little olive oil in your skillet, then add some onion and the asparagus….once those JUST start to soften up a tad add in the grape tomatoes and then a little Italian seasoning and a squeeze of lemon juice….fresh and flavorful!
Next, I’ve been planning on making these for a while……CAKE POPS!
Just finished them up and I’ll be taking them to work with me Wednesday morning for Karina’s 30th birthday.
Pink on the outside….chocolate on the inside! I forgot to get a little block of styrofoam to put the sticks in so they would actually look like POPS, but the taste will be the same regardless….I’ll let you know what kind of reviews they get.
So easy to make! Bake a cake from a mix, let it cool, and then pop it in the food processor to make it into crumbs. Next add 1/2 a tub of frosting and mix that together with the cake crumbs. Then I put that in the freezer for about 30 minutes….next spoon it into balls and put the balls in the freezer for 1 hour. Melt some almond bark and add some food coloring. Dip the lollipop sticks in the melted bark and insert into the balls then dip the balls in the bark….voila….cake pops!
I'm not one for spicy at all, but they sure do look delicious, even this early in the morning! Those cake pops are adorable..
ReplyDeleteSeriously.....this post is killing me. It all looks so good. Why can't diet food taste good?
ReplyDeleteI love spicy especially chicken wings. I do a lot of stir fries because they are so quick and don't cook the veggies to death. You should be a food editor Tammy. You tempt us with your yummy food pictures and recipes. I'm off sweet for a we bit. I put on 2 pounds this Holiday season. JB
ReplyDeleteTammy,
ReplyDeleteYou always have so many interesting recipes on here but with acid reflux, the wings would have to be very mild for me to attempt them.
I have started really watching my portion size as I attempt to eat better. Of course, the chocolate dessert you have looks so tempting. I assume you mean a 1/2 a "tub" of frosting?
Hope you and yours are enjoying the new year!
Trisha
Oh Boy, I am drooling here, honestly...You do know how to torture us..... :)
ReplyDeleteYum Tammy! I've got some new recipes I'm getting ready to try. Time for a girl's luncheon!
ReplyDeleteThese cake pops came out darling. I love the pink! Great job.
