I'm feeling extra bloggy today....I think it's because I've finished hooking the "Going in Circles" rug. I like how it turned out, but it just didn't speak to my heart when I was hooking it....it may very well be my last geometric that I hook. I found that I lost interest in it when I was about half way through. I could see in my mind's eye how it was going to end and at that point in my MIND I was finished with it.
The thing about geometrics is this....I love to look at them and I think they are good for utility rugs and can fit into your decor in so many places, but to HOOK them, they just don't make my heart sing.....does that make sense?
I'd rather be hooking things that are personal to me.....I snapped this picture of the dogs around lunchtime...they were both lying on the bed together gazing out the window, but they both turned when they heard the camera. I think it's the perfect picture of PEACE which is another thing I'm striving for this year.
Go forth and be creative,
Tammy
Wow, that rug is huge! You are sooo lucky you have sunshine today. Enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteYou have made a most beautiful rug, I am sure you will come to treasure it over the years.

You hit that nail directly on the head.....if a rug won't "speak" to me, I don't want to hook it. I love Lonnie's reaction to this rug. He's probably thinking you hooked this rug just for him.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great life Lonnie and Cleopatra have! Just lay in bed, doze and watch the world go by. Ummm, I wish I could be like that.
Tammy......your blog is looking fabulous! It was such fun to join up with everyone and hook the other night!

Hey Tammy! Your rug is absolutely gorgeous! I loved seeing the photo of your sweet babies laying on the bed. Perfect! Alabama Grace was curled up right next to me this morning and I would have given anything to stay right there with her. I always joke that I like my dogs more than I like most people. tee hee I am finally starting to get back to my own creativity and have started a couple of quilt projects. Yea!!! Have a great weekend! I love your blog!!! xoxo Josh
ReplyDeleteTammy, oh girlfriend, you just spelled out my biggest challenge! LOL! The minute "the puzzle" comes together and I can see how it's going to look, I lose interest and want to move onto something new and exciting! :) So it's a total push to make myself finish a rug after about the 1/2 way mark! And as soon as I pull that last loop - forget about steaming and binding - i am RUNNING for something new!! Terrible huh? Yes.. i always come back and finish them properly - just not right away! haha!
ReplyDeleteSending you a little extra "bloggy love" !!!
{{{hugs}}}
