Wanda Kerr has me Seeing RED!

The color RED that is!!!
Wanda has a great article in the newest issue of Rug Hooking Magazine on dyeing reds. I love her articles because she gently prods you to experiment and use the dyes you already have if you don't have the particular BRAND of dyes that she is using in her article.
Yesterday I gathered up a bunch of my odds and ends of wools.....natural, purple spot dyes, rusty plaids, golds, camels, gray and white checks and whatever else I thought red would look good over.

Plus, I'm sure you've heard me say before that all of those bits and pieces of wool lying around just drive me nuts!
I was going for bright rich reds and orangey reds with some dark reds thrown in for contrast.

So what am I going to do with all of these reds?

I'm going to make a rug for my kitchen.

Go forth and be creative,

Tammy

  8. I was going to ask what kind of rug you were going to do for the new kitchen but I see you already answered that. Your pile of reds is gorgeous, Tammy, and they look so pretty all smooshed together like that. I finally got my RHM yesterday and I've already read it cover to cover.
