This is a small 9 x 13 mat that I started some time ago.
I wanted to use up bits and pieces from my worm basket
so I thought I would make a few pieces that could
be used to give as small gifts…..I thought this size
would be perfect to use as a hot pad to sit a casserole
dish on.
I used the covered cording technique to do the finish.
Someone had asked me how I then finish the back…..
Well here it is….I just fold the excess wool down and
stitch it to the mat….pretty easy really.
I’ve also finished Cleopatra’s rug into a pillow….
by the time I went outside and piddled around taking
pictures of this small mat, (and more pictures
of the “boys”….which you will see soon)
it was too dark to
get pictures of the pillow…..
I’ll try to get it on here soon!
Boy they sure look comfortable! Love you mat. Amazing you created something so beautiful out of little bits of wool scraps. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI'm curious - am I on your gift-giving list? : )) That is SO PRETTY!! goodness me.

It feels nice finishing projects that has been put aside. Your little mat is lovely and will make someone very happy.
ReplyDeleteThe kids look like that have claimed your bed for their own. You may have to sleep in their bed...
