My blog, my opinion….no apologies
I posted that at the last hook-in that I went
to in Booneville, MO that I caved and purchased
some new woolies for my stash.
Here they are…..
The blue/green plaid is going in the new rug that I’ve
started here…..
I love how it hooks up!
I’m hooking it along with this wool that I dyed with
some of my besties quite a long time ago……
I love dying “fun” wools like this and I like it even more
when I find places to use them!
I’m still trying to work through my stash of wool and
can’t wait until I feel like I have it at a more manageable
size….then I’ll feel free to play in the dye pots again!
It’s taken me a while to get pictures, but last weekend
I finished Cleopatra’s pillow.
My plan is to have it on one of the chairs in our
front room.
However, Buzzbee loves anything soft….he thinks
if it’s soft, it’s a toy and he needs to drag it around
the house and play with it.
I’ve had a few Halloween dolls that have bit the
dust at his hands….they are now in the trash
So, for now, the pillow will sit up somewhere higher
that he does not have access to
Here is the back of the pillow…..I was going to put a button
on it, but I don’t have much experience with making button
holes, so instead I used a few pieces of wool and attached
those with stitched buttons and then tied them together
like bows….I think it works!
On a different subject….if you want a healthy treat,
I highly recommend these Iced Gingerbread Clif Bars!
Delicious!
I haven’t tried the Spiced Pumpkin Pie yet, but
that sounds good too!
Kenny also picked up these Pop Tarts……
Hmmmm…..I’ll leave those for him, but they
sound good!
Are you a pumpkin pie or gingerbread freak when it
comes to fall foods?
My fave is hot apple cider (maybe spiked with a little
sumthin’ sumthin’) with warm gingerbread cake
topped with whipped cream….haven’t had any yet this
season, but will have to have some soon!
Last night, Buzzbee rolled in something really nasty smelling….
not sure exactly what it was, but it definitely earned him a bath!
Lonnie loves his new brother so much and thought he needed special
grooming after his bath.
I can honestly say, I’ve never had two dogs
who love each other like these two do!
Ahhhhh, rolls and rolls of linen…….
Wouldn’t this be a dream?!

Do you ever have those days when you just feel like being
a home body?
I’m having one of those “moments” tonight.
I’m supposed to be getting ready to go to my power yoga class,
(and yes, I can do this pose!)
but I’m just not feeling it.
It’s warm and balmy out, yet I just feel like snuggling into my
home this evening.
We had a big storm move through last night with bright
lightening and really loud, window shaking thunder….
I think being up for about an hour with Lonnie
(storm fraidy cat) in the middle of the night made me
a little bit tired as well. Thankfully, Buzzbee is not scared
of storms and slept like a stone! Perhaps Lonnie will learn
a thing or two from him about being more calm when
it storms….we’ll see.
It actually stormed for several hours, so I really shouldn’t
complain about his one hour of nervousness….he is so
much better than he used to be…..looky HERE.
Speaking of looking……I took a few pictures from the
Baa Baa Booneville hook-in that I went to this weekend
with blogless Sandy.
I didn’t get many pictures, but here are two of my favorite things
that I saw……
This marvelous crazy quilt pillow by The Wooly Loft
I tried to take pictures from a few different angles,
so you could see all the different techniques used on it.
So inspiring!
Loads of wool boas (for lack of a better term)!
I bought a green one last year and used part of it
in my “Cleopatra’s Car Ride” pillow….
Look at this whopper! I was sending pictures to
a friend who wanted one, but this one was huge and
heavy…..$356…..however, theatrical and gorgeous!
They also had smaller pieces as well….
The feather boas are from Ozark Handspun
and they have gorgeous yarns as well!
I bought the pattern for the stuffed turkey below
last year, but haven’t hooked it yet…..I know, I know…
Thanksgiving is right around the corner!
The turkey pattern comes from Prairie Road Designs
and she has even more cute stuffed patterns…..her
dog and reindeer are adorable as well!
There were so many wonderful vendors and their displays
were awesome! I swear, I haven’t purchased any wool
in about 3 years…..yes, 3 years….can you believe that?!
Well, Judy, at Rustic Rugs had a few pieces that made me
cave…..one I’m using in a new rug I’m working on and the others
were purchased just to make me smile!
(pictures later on, if I can remember…..yes, they have
pink in them!)
If I were a “stitcher” I would have definitely bought a few patterns
from Primitive Stitches….so darn pretty they make me
want to stitch, but then I know my limits….maybe one day!
I mean, look at this…..
….and this…..
Really amazing!
Okay, I’m going to go tuck in and get snuggled in
my spot for the night and perhaps work on my new rug.
This little gal, Clementine, has been featured
on my side bar for months and months looking
for her forever home. I check on these dogs most
mornings before I go to work.
Coonhounds can make the most wonderful pets!
I was thrilled today to click on her picture and see
that she has finally found a forever home!
Congratulations Clementine!

The new dog I added to my sidebar this morning is
Daisey…..she is one of the dogs that I was drawn to in
our search for a companion for Lonnie…..if she would
have been closer, I have a feeling she would have
been living with us….such a sweet face and such a sad
story…..
This is Daisey….
You can read more about her by clicking on
her picture on my sidebar.
Little Buzzbee idolizes Lonnie and follows him around
and tries to do the things that he does.
Here he is watching Lonnie jump up on the wood pile
to chase squirrels…..
So what do you do when you have short little
legs and get up somewhere high?
They really are quite the pair!
This is a small 9 x 13 mat that I started some time ago.
I wanted to use up bits and pieces from my worm basket
so I thought I would make a few pieces that could
be used to give as small gifts…..I thought this size
would be perfect to use as a hot pad to sit a casserole
dish on.
I used the covered cording technique to do the finish.
Someone had asked me how I then finish the back…..
Well here it is….I just fold the excess wool down and
stitch it to the mat….pretty easy really.
I’ve also finished Cleopatra’s rug into a pillow….
by the time I went outside and piddled around taking
pictures of this small mat, (and more pictures
of the “boys”….which you will see soon)
it was too dark to
get pictures of the pillow…..
I’ll try to get it on here soon!
I know you’re not going to believe it,
but I actually got a few things finished this
weekend!
I had a small mat that I had made a while back
that needed to be bound…..FINISHED!
Cleopatra’s rug made into a pillow….
FINISHED!
In a time crunch this morning, but will try
to get pictures and share them with you
tonight or tomorrow.
In the meantime, the dogs have been getting along
great…..STILL!
I decided to share a few hound-y pics from around the web
that give me the warm fuzzies!
So in love with my dogs right now!
I adore autumn….
it’s that time of the year for reflection….
thinking about what is working in your life….
and what isn’t…..
time to think about culling out those things that aren’t
working…..
and replace them with things that might work….
You don’t know if you don’t try…..
If things around you don’t change..
Change the things you're around
I know, I’m just like that new parent
who shoves pictures of their kids in your
face, while you’re trying to have a conversation!
Instead, I’m shoving videos of my kids
in front of your face.
Sorry, I can’t help it, they are just so cute
together and they are bringing us so much joy!
Yes, after last night’s cold snap, it feels as if
fall has finally arrived.
Kenny has the house bedecked with pumpkins and gourds
of all shapes and sizes!
He’s also brought a touch of fall inside the house as well…
with our favorite thing to decorate with…..
hedge apples!
Due to the sudden change in weather, Kenny has been
moving a few of his tropicals and succulents into the house.
This one is just glorious! (and yes, I have a thing
for chartreus-y green!)
Happy to report that Lonnie and Buzzbee
are still getting along great! Last night they were
absolutely tuckered out and slept like logs.
They zipped through the house most of the day yesterday
like it was their own private racetrack!
