Can anyone out there recommend a good printer?

Last night my printer quit on me.....not quit, but when I hit the print button the page came out blank. So, after work, I went to Office Depot and bought a new printer cartridge....installed it...and still BLANK pages.

I've tried to find a way to fix the problem on the web to no avail, so I guess now I'm in the market for a new printer. Any suggestions are welcome. I really guess I just need something basic.....I use my printer to print out shipping labels and recipes mainly.

That is why I'm so late posting today.
We were blessed with a beautiful and windy day after a morning of thunderstorms. After workPatti and I took Cleopatra, Lily, and Belle, to the nature trail to walk and get in the water a bit. If you saw Cleopatra walk you would laugh....she likes to walk, but when she sees other people or dogs coming towards us she just sits down and waits for them to come to her.....funny,
but a bit irritating when it's a day when there are lots of people on the trail.
Earlier this week I tried taking treats with me and as long as she is walking at a nice pace she gets treated occasionally.....it seems to be working! YAY!
Another good thing is that my countertops are in!!! I love them!
Yes, the stove top is in, but not hooked up yet.You know what that means....now they can install the appliances....those are supposed to be going in on Wednesday....so hopefully I'll be dyeing wool by next weekend!!!! Oh yeah,,,,and cooking :)
The doors with the glass inserts will be here Saturday as well, so hopefully I'll have more pictures to share very soon.
As well as pictures of a new guest who is staying with us.
Go forth and be creative,
Tammy

  1. Hey Tam! Your kitchen is coming along pretty quickly!! How exciting! Cleo is a riot - sitting when people approach! Too funny!
As to printers we actually do have a favorite after going thru several!
I don't know if this is the right number but mine says hp psc1315xi all in one - printer, scanner, copier. You can get them pretty cheaply - i think we got ours for around 70-80 bucks.. maybe cheaper. The beauty of this little thing is it prints FAST, clear and sharp, and just keeps on truckin! We had our first one for 4 or 5 years - AND Dan was constantly taking it with him to closings (loans) as he needed to copy people's SS card and driver's liscence with the docs. It got to the point that he needed it constantly, so we bought another to replace the one in our office. Now he has one in his car, and one here on my desk! And the first one is STILL going great! And it takes a nice beating in his car! LOL!
Look for a good little HP and it will last you forever! :D

  3. I have a Canon. I'm looking at the book an it says Canon PIXMA MP180/MP160. It is also a printer, scanner, copier and we haven't had any problems with it at all. Even I can use it and that says something lol. Good luck on your purchase.

  4. I have the Lexmark X4270 which is not only a printer, copier and scanner but faxes as well. And knowing my budget, it didn't cost a lot of dough. Having the option of a fax machine in my house saves so much time. I don't have to worry about sending things through the mail as much. I even refill my ink cartridges at our local Walgreens at a considerable savings.

Now back to who the new guest is. Is it a friend of Cleopatra's by chance?

  5. I have two reliable, low maintenance printers I've been using for a couple of years now. Both mfrs. have come out with newer in their series and I wouldn't hesitate to go with them again:
    - hp laserjet 1320 (awesome laser copies - fast)
    - Epson Stylus Photo RX500 (all in one & perfect photos

Hope you treat yourself to a shop through Williams-Sonoma for your new kitchen! Love their spring dish soap line and I should probably buy Vanilla Extract by the case!
