Will I hook today?

I seem to have lost my hooking groove.

Will I find it today?

I walk into my hooking room and it just hasn’t been calling to me.  I feel like a crazy girl just waiting by the phone….I want my hooking to call to me, I really do!

Is it possible that my hooking has run its course?

“Pondering” by Jenny Armitage

Do I really need a longer break than I anticipated?

Is it just hard to get inspired to hook garden rugs when it’s 4 degrees outside and snowy?

Perhaps I’ll hook, perhaps I won’t.

  1. Sometimes... just picking up the hook and pulling a loop is all you need to get going again... With me not being a winter person, it would be heaven to work on a floral rug! :-) Relax and enjoy! That's part of the whole process!

  2. Isn't it horrible when you get in the slump? I've been there ~ not right now, though! Maybe you're doing something else fun?!

  3. Tammy,
I think we all go through this kind of lull or slump. It is kind of like writer's block or a period when we regroup and come back refreshed. Our creativity ebbs and flows like everything. Often it is helpful to work in another medium or expose ourselves to other stimuli - anything creative...like your forages into those luscious magazines. Keep the faith..

  4. Tammy,
You are one of the most talented women I know--in several mediums. But your fresh ideas, your teaching, and especially your sharing of ideas is what makes you such a special person. You are a
"giver" and maybe you just need a little time off to replinish, to just "be." Do whatever you want, whenever you want. Relax in front of the fire with a good book with your pooches. Take a nap. Take a bubble bath. Have some wine. Call a friend. Lunch with a friend. Whatever makes you happy! And when you're ready, we will be here waiting, OK!? Love Ya Girl, Jeanne
