He's here!

Lonnie is here!!! And he's glorious!!!!

First off.....a big THANK YOU to Lonnie's foster mom, Judi.

Truly an angel on earth! Such kindness, compassion and love for the dogs she fosters until they find their forever homes.

When we first went to pick him up we thought we would want to change his name to perhaps Julius or Augustus or Conway, but after meeting him he is definitely keeping his name of Lonnie......Lonnie the Lover.

On the way home he spread his time between being in the back seat with me and then delicately making his way up to lay in the passenger seat next to Kenny

Our biggest anxiety was wondering how he would get along with Cleopatra. She has become quite the princess since we lost Big Truvy.

Their initial meeting went quite well. They had a little interest in each other and at least didn't hate each other.

After his first long day, he was tuckered out and fell asleep on the loveseat and then moved on to sleep on the bunkbed.

In the middle of the night he came into our room and nestled himself in between us and then in the morning, after I was up making coffee, Cleopatra hopped up on the bed far so good!

Go forth and be creative,

  1. Congratulations to you and Kenny on the new addition to your home. I'm glad Lonnie is settling in so well and Cleo appears to be accepting of her new brother.

Bless you for adopting Lonnie and I hope you have many happy years together.

  2. Yay!! Congratulations!! What a sweety he is! I hope all goes well today between the two siblings and Lonnie settles in easily :) Thanks for sharing this journey with us Tammy!

  3. Congratulations!! Love when another rescue dog finds the perfect forever home. Now as long as the Queen accepts her Regent and allows him the graciousness of her company, all should go well in the Burks household.

Also thanks for updating me on Yahoo's pending adoption. Although I can never have these big dogs anymore, I still have a very soft spot for them. Can't wait until you get to the PWCs and see what is out there!

    Warm hugs and wet noses,
    trisha, Dotty and Frieda

  4. Tammy,

Congrats on the new baby~~~I'm so glad he and Cleo are getting along...and bless you over and over for your wonderful blog and trying to help find these kids homes...
