Winter has been harsh this year, but it’s looking like she
is finally going to let us enjoy warmer weather.
We are expecting temperatures in the 70’s for most of
this week.
Hellebores are in full bloom….one of my favorite woodland
flowers. Love the creamy whites and the moody purples.
Daffodils are in varying modes of buds and blooms.
Kenny has been hard at work raking away the winter
so that spring may have an easier time emerging.
Trilliums are always an unexpected delight
We are enjoying the extra hours of daylight.
Hurray for spring!
Great pictures. You are WAY ahead of us! I need to check my hellebores. Last time I looked I didn't even see a bud :(
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday to you :)
Hugs,
Lauren
Beautiful photos. Unfortunately my early blooming daffodils ~ well really the continued spring winter ~ has done damage to the flora. The daffodils are limping, some froze and died as they were blooming.
ReplyDeleteOne thing I noticed is that even you have those wild strawberry plants. How does one get rid of them as they spread, root and go all over the yard.
Saundra
Saundra, OMG those wild strawberry plants, if they would only give me edible strawberries I would be knee deep in strawberry shortcake! I dig and hoe at them every year and Kenny mulches heavily, but they still come back....oh well, we're not much on using chemicals, so they are just something we live with :)
DeleteOh Tammy, how you make my heart skip a beat with all the flowers and new shoots coming up down there! We have 3-4 feet of snow here yet but it's slowly melting. We have needed the moisture so hope all this snow will be of some good. Your yard is surely beautiful! I can practically smell the "greening of Spring"!

Tammy,
ReplyDeleteAs always your garden is stunning. I got my first daffodil bloom and doubt any more will appear. But my amaryllis bulbs look like they are making up for the daffys.
We are going through our snowy season now. Great big puffs of yellow pollen coating everything. Love waking up during the night to watery eyes.
This too shall pass.

Great to see new life in the garden. It'll be quite awhile before we see it here though. Cheers
