Emergence

Winter has been harsh this year, but it’s looking like she

is finally going to let us enjoy warmer weather.

We are expecting temperatures in the 70’s for most of

this week.

Hellebores are in full bloom….one of my favorite woodland

flowers. Love the creamy whites and the moody purples.

Daffodils are in varying modes of buds and blooms.

Kenny has been hard at work raking away the winter

so that spring may have an easier time emerging.

Trilliums are always an unexpected delight

We are enjoying the extra hours of daylight.

Hurray for spring!

Modern Moose

As you can see, the “cheater” wool strips that I blogged about

here just weren’t doing it for me.

I ended up sewing extra linen to the pattern.  It’s just

so much easier to hook on now.

Picking out the colors for the hit and miss, however, is not

as easy as it looks….I’ve decided to go with a plan….yes,

a plan….bright, dull, dark, light….it’s infuriating, but I must

carry on.

A Home for Tamara

I saw this little girl on Petfinder a few days ago and put

her on my blog sidebar, in hopes that she would find a home.

Dreams do come true! She has been adopted.

She looks like a short spaniel….so precious!

The penny rug is all stitched….and then stitched to a

background fabric….

I must have been thinking of making it into a pillow…

What would you do with it?

Might make a good bolster pillow….hmmmm….

It’s finally SPRING, so I’d best get on it, and figure

something out!

Curling up

Lonnie curled up and soaking up the afternoon sun.

If you notice in the top picture, the chair by the window and

plants is draped in a green throw…..that’s because it’s a brown

and white hounds tooth chair and the dogs like to sit there and

look out the window.

Spring Cleaning

 

….or should I say…decluttering….

I’m finding that it’s been hard to sit and work on my projects

because I feel like there is so much “stuff” weighing me down.

Yes folks, it’s time to purge.

I know, I know, I’ve talked about de-cluttering for YEARS….

YEARS on here!

How do we accumulate so much STUFF?!

I’ve been WAY better over the years of not buying small

little knick-knacky type things….we have a new name

for that at our house, “butter”.

Why keep buying butter? Just save up and buy a nice big

piece of steak….something substantial.

Some days I feel like that about rugs as well…..why keep doing little

projects that you don’t really have a place for….wouldn’t

it be something to make a big, substantial rug?!

Right now I’m working on a set of pillows….something I can use

around the house, but perhaps I’ll let this idea of a huge

rug marinate in my mind…..

It’s a Sock!!

It’s only one sock….not yet a pair, but it’s a start!

….and it fits!

I’ve made mistakes along the way, but it’s all part of the

learning process.

Another rug for sale

I’m still in the process of selling off a few more of my hooked rugs

on eBay. This one starts at a really low price.

I made a total of 6 of these and they used to sit in my dining

room chairs….I’ve since changed my décor and they no longer

belong.  Hoping this one will find a good home.
