Man oh Man

I got to the tai chi class last night and it had been canceled, so I drove back home and then went back later for a Power Yoga class……..one and a half hours later, I was dripping with sweat…..

A few times I got cramps in my legs and had to ease off into child’s pose

The entire class went up into headstands…..well, the entire class but me….

I don’t know that I’ve ever been able to do a headstand, but now I’m going to start practicing

on how to get there.

Honestly, by the time we got to the headstand portion my arms and shoulders were so

fatigued from doing so many “flows”…..we must have done 500!

I went back again tonight for a “gentle vinyasa” class…..yes, tonight I needed someone to be gentle with me because my shoulders, arms and hips were screaming at me most of the day.

On the way there, there was a little snow coming from the sky and it was so nice and peaceful…..but COLD!

So nice to get into the yoga studio and stretch and breathe into those tight and sore places from last nights class.

However, that is when my peacefulness ended….I came out to my car to put my yoga mat in my trunk and realized that my purse was no longer in my trunk!  As I went around to the driver’s side of my car……my window was busted out…..someone must have seen me putting my purse in the trunk when I was going into class…..glass is everywhere.

(this pic is from the web…..take that amount of glass and multiply it by 100…that’s what the inside of my car looked like)

A classmate I didn’t know offered to drive me home….I filed a police report, called all of my credit cards and then had Kenny take me back to get my car.  He took a broom with him, to sweep all of the glass out of my car seat and drove my car home for me……..

let’s hope tomorrow is better…..

  1. Oh Tammy, how sad. Sorry that happened to you. Now was that you in the first two pictures doing the yoga?? Holy cow if I tried that I wouldn't walk for a week. I admire you, it's so good for you. Hope tomorrow is better.

  2. Bless your heart. We all have done this a thousand times. It's not just the credita cards you worry about......but the perp has your address. Make sure you keep your house locked up tight. Explain to your "barkers" they need to do their jobs. I am just so sorry this happened. We are in desparate times, for sure.
Re: the yoga? I am in awe. I'd be happy to remain on the floor and just stretch. As I said earlier, I sure do admire you for doing this. Girl, you got those long long legs to hike off the floor. Surely it's easier for short people like me........if I didn't have the 50 extra # in my trunk! (Oh gosh...I'm sorry......that sure didn't come out right. You know what I mean!)
    Hugs to you honey......

  3. Tammy ~
That sucks! I am so sorry. Life can be scary at times.
I, too, admire you for the care you take of yourself. Good luck with the headstands. I haven't tried one of those for MANY decades!
    Hugs :)

  4. Cyndi,
No, that's not me in the pictures....I put those on there to help myself envision where I want to get to in yoga:)

    Ter'e and Lauren & Cyndi,
Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts. I always try to make "sense" of things. This showed me how kind people are at Discover, Paypal, At&T and my bank as well as our local police and a lady that I didn't even know in my yoga class.....good is still going to overpower the bad. I just know it!

  5. This definitely taught me a lesson. So sorry that I had to finally take this serious because of your experience. I've heard all the warnings but continued to do things the same way. Never again! I, too, admire you for taking such good care of your body. Hope you have a great Thurs.

  6. Tammy,
I feel so sorry that this had to happen to you! I am glad you are safe because it always could have been worse!
Maybe a self defense class would be a good idea...... just kidding sort of........ but staying physically fit and in a good state of mind with yoga and tai chi helps to deal with such assaults!
Keep up the good work and your positive energy will overide the bad in every way!
    Hugs to you girlfriend!!

  7. My theory is 'if you have it, someone else wants it'!! Wish those poor souls would put as much effort into finding a job as they do taking what doesn't belong to them!!! My purse was stolen several years ago and it is a huge headache getting all the details taken care of! We had our locks changed that night because they got my house keys, too! There is a lesson in everything ~ for me, I will NEVER put my purse in the trunk! Thanks for sharing ~ and good luck with the headstand!!!!!!!

  9. I always entertain a niggling worry when I put my purse in the trunk while in the parking lot. I had never heard of an actual theft until now. So I will be more careful in the future. I often try to remember to put it in the trunk at home. When I don't, I guess I'll be carrying it in with me from now on. Sorry you had to be a victim.

  10. oh gosh, Tammy! I am so far behind in my blog reading that I totally missed this entire happening. So sorry that you had this going on. I read about it backwards, so know that by now, life is settling back down for you. Take care!
