My original idea was to list new wools on here every Sunday.....well, it's not happening THIS Sunday.

I DID dye wool yesterday and came up with some lovely colors.....did I take pictures...nope.....I know....bad blogger!!! Bad blogger!

All of the new woolies have headed up to Simply Fibers in Springfield, Missouri.

My local hookers are getting in full swing and I can hardly keep up....this is a GOOD thing....one little cool snap and they are hooking machines! They will be happy to hear that I've created a bit more space for wool, so local girls....there is now EVEN MORE WOOL to choose from!!!! YAY!!!

Blogging friends....never fear....I've still got lots of woolies to over dye....perhaps I'll get more done this coming Wednesday....stay tuned....for now I've got two rugs calling my name needing to be bound.

An imperfect Halloween

Yes, I always try to paint a bright and rosy picture of life here on Valleyroad.

However, there has been a little mishap........

One innocent girl........

they are not speaking.....

...the dogs, that is.

What's a girl to do?......

She was sitting innocently on a bench with the rest of her Halloween pals, yet something about her made her special....

...special enough for one of the dogs to choose her and to love her just a little bit too roughly.I've put her in the infirmary....

...should I do major surgery and open up her head to re-hook the strips...

... or should I be less invasive and leave her sewn together and just prod her some bangs?

Any thoughts?

Dogs, Ducks and caves

Yesterday we once again headed out on one of our local nature trails to walk the dogs.

This time we took them down to the Sequiota Park area. If you are from Springfield, Missouri chances are you or someone you know has had senior pictures made here.

You can tell fall is coming on because the goldenrod is in full glory!

Here is a favorite poem about September that my husband likes to recite.......I don't know if he knows it's this long....he simply started reciting the first verse when we saw the goldenrod blooming.

The goldenrod is yellow

The corn is turning brown

The trees in apple orchards

With fruit are bending down.

This weeks wool offerings

I've tried to list these stone soup wools in the order that they are in the stack.

Cherry Pie and Santa Red are very close in coloring. Pumpkin Spice and Jackie-O Lantern are also close in value. Below is BURNISHED GOLD.

This is an original recipe as are all of this week's offerings. However, I've written the recipes down so if you need more that is totally possible, however the wool selections may differ. The 4th piece of wool over in this picture has more of a greenish cast as it was dyed over a piece of grey wool....go figure. These wools have moderate mottleing and are dyed over wools from Rebecca, Oxford and Pendleton. I have two collections of BURNISHED GOLD available. Each collection has (5) 1/8th yard pieces that measure approximately 31" x 7".

Each collection is $20 plus shipping. I will only charge actual shipping from my blog and I'm happy to ship first class up to 13 oz, then priority or parcel post.

This next color is VINE. Lovely shades of green great for vines, leaves or other green needs. Again, dyed over wools from Rebecca, Oxford and Pendleton.

DANCE THE CHARTREUSEY is another original formula. The first piece is a bit more green than the others.....yes, dyed over a piece of gray....great for that darker value. POMEGRANATE is a great color...not quite a barn red, but a teensy bit more pomegrante-y. Could be great for faded flags, pomegranates (duh) or something a tiny bit Victorian. The 3rd piece is a bit orangey as it was dyed over a piece of golden plaid...I still think it works great with this grouping.

Thanks to everyone who voted in the poll on where they would rather purchase my wool.

The largest majority was right here at my blog which tickles me pink!

Here is a big stack of "stone soup" wools that I'll get more pictures of in their own groups and have on here in a bit.

Lots of books!

I've been working on clearing out some of my books to make room for more wool! There might be some real bargains if you want to take a look.

The Romantic Home Sewing book has a great bucket bag to sew....I made one that is reversible for my niece to take to the pool and she loves it!

The Victoria book has lots of wonderful crafts from needlepoint to quilting and more.

If you can't get Somerset Life where you live....it's so inspirational...it will have you looking at ordinary things in extraordinary ways!

Need a hooked rug for Halloween decorating?

These gals are hooking circles around me and I just love it!

I'm back to work, but it's nice to see that someone is getting some hooking done.
