It’s snowing again here in the Ozarks!
Actually, to be quite honest, these pictures were
taken a week or so ago, but with the snow falling
this evening, I thought it would be fun to share them
anyway.
Sad to say that these woods are going to be a home
to a new grocery store…..(sadness)…we try to walk
in this area, whenever we have a chance.
It’s a peaceful spot, in the middle of the city.
Trying to make the most of what we have while
it’s still here and so beautiful.
We did take the hounds out for a walk this evening
when we got home from work. Snow was falling
pretty rapidly, so it was a quick walk around the
block….not nearly as pretty as our walk in the woods
a few weeks ago, but fun, nonetheless!
Overnight we went from balmy temps of 64 degrees
to cold, cloudy and rainy and back in the low 40’s.
Well, that’s spring for you here in the Ozarks!
To beat the doldrums of the gloomy weather we left
the nest
and went to the Orchid Show at the
Springfield Botanical Center.
Over the years, it’s been nice to see our park
board build these wonderful facilities.
The variety of orchids was awe-inspiring!
I have no ideas of the names of all these,
so just pictures……we came home with two
varieties….one is a coconut orchid and smells
like coconut…..here is a picture of one that
is about 8 years old…..ours is much smaller.
Now, on with the show!
These orchids below were one of my favorite,
I love the pitcher shape and the deep, dark color.
Some of the orchids were in little basket
vignettes…..so pretty!
I do remember that the orchid below is
a type of pansy orchid….it does look
very similar to a pansy.
Hope you enjoyed the show!
