Overnight & Orchids

Overnight we went from balmy temps of 64 degrees

to cold, cloudy and rainy and back in the low 40’s.

Well, that’s spring for you here in the Ozarks!

To beat the doldrums of the gloomy weather we left

the nest

and went to the Orchid Show at the

Springfield Botanical Center.

Over the years, it’s been nice to see our park

board build these wonderful facilities.

The variety of orchids was awe-inspiring!

I have no ideas of the names of all these,

so just pictures……we came home with two

varieties….one is a coconut orchid and smells

like coconut…..here is a picture of one that

is about 8 years old…..ours is much smaller.

Now, on with the show!

These orchids below were one of my favorite,

I love the pitcher shape and the deep, dark color.

I do remember that the orchid below is

a type of pansy orchid….it does look

very similar to a pansy.

Today Will Never Come Again

Today was a rough day, I saw a friend who is having a hard

time with her health.

Working in health care for over 20 years I feel myself get

hardened to many people’s situations…..

today I found the soft spot in my heart….

made me want to cry….

Things I’ve been holding back

Here are a few pictures that I found on my iPhone, my new favorite

photography tool…not so much that it takes awesome photos, although,

it does do a pretty good job, I love it because it’s usually with me!

I found these little sliders on pinterest!

“Game Day Turkey, Pesto, Onion & Cheese Poppyseed Sliders”

Really easy to put together if you  need to take something to a potluck….

they are good cold or hot, but best when they are hot!

(Not something you want to eat a lot of if you are watching

your weight!!)

……………………………………………………………….

A few months ago, our neighbors came over with their

dogs, Baxter and Laney, they came over to look at our gas log.

It was a nice day, so the dogs were playing outside, when

they came inside, we noticed that Baxter’s paws were wet.

Then we went outside with the dogs and found out why!

Baxter LOVES the water!

………………………………………………………

The dogs have been a constant source of entertainment for us,

regardless of the weather being nice or not so nice, it’s always

good to get out of the house and go for a walk.

There are a few acres of land near us that we love to walk through,

it’s been sold and will soon be home to a grocery store, despite

the city hall meetings that I have attended with my neighbors to

protest it.

We’re trying to enjoy it while it’s still here.

The hounds love it, because they are always catching

scents of rabbits or other little critters…

This leads them into the brush, but they can only

go in as far as their leashes will allow.

The dogs got new winter coats for Christmas!

Cold weather doesn’t slow us down!

Be Back, Maybe

Just a short note to let you all know that I am

still around and doing just fine.

Taking a break from blogging.

Thinking things over and trying to decide if I

want to keep this up, or use the time for other

pursuits.

I may be back, but it will be with the comments turned

off.

Comments make me feel pressure to go back and comment

on other’s blogs, and it just takes a lot of time.

Trying to decide the best way to make use of my time.

Best to everyone,

Tammy
